Welcome to my daily gratitude journal. Everyday I will share one thing for which I’m thankful in each of the areas of family, work, and well-being.
Every day, every moment, and every experience (even the “bad” ones) present opportunities for thankfulness. But to whom are we to express thankfulness? God, our Heavenly Father, must be the object of our thankfulness. All good things come from Him (Jas 1:17); and He works all things (once again, including the “bad” things) together for the good for those who love Him (Rom 8:28).
Today, I’m thankful to God for…
Family: The helpful tips that my wife and I learned at Dogwood Church’s Mom2Mom barn gathering last night. The married couple that spoke talked about having a preparation mindset vs. a protection mindset when parenting. A preparation mindset (similar to the growth mindset) helps children to learn how to be independently and collaboratively productive. The protection mindset shelters and can stunt the child’s growth. This doesn’t mean that we aren’t to protect our children from danger…that wasn’t the message by any means. My wife and I are grateful to be in fellowship with other Christian parents last night. We all just want to learn how to be better stewards and caretakers of the souls that God has entrusted to us.
Work: How He perfectly orders my career steps.
Well-being: The blessing of a spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically stable marriage. We aren’t perfect, but God’s grace is evident in our marriage. Blessings.
These are the three things for which I’m thankful today.
I pray that my journal will inspire you to express thankfulness daily to God.
