How about a special Saturday gratitude journal entry?!
Welcome to my daily gratitude journal. Everyday I will share one thing for which I’m thankful in each of the areas of family, work, and well-being.
Every day, every moment, and every experience (even the “bad” ones) present opportunities for thankfulness. But to whom are we to express thankfulness? God, our Heavenly Father, must be the object of our thankfulness. All good things come from Him (Jas 1:17); and He works all things (once again, including the “bad” things) together for the good for those who love Him (Rom 8:28).
Today, I’m thankful to God for…
Family: Our beautiful daughter’s 5th birthday today! We are so blessed to have this little firecracker in our life.
Work: The opportunity to write for a living. I didn’t major in English or Journalism in college, but writing, in various ways, has always been something that I enjoyed. I’m happy that God has blessed me to do it for His glory!
Well-being: Two things here… Prayer and giving thanks got me through a rough day with the kids yesterday. They were pretty whiny and they weren’t getting along well. Prayer and thanksgiving gave me some much needed peace. Second thing… I was able to dunk without pain when playing 1-on-1 basketball against my daughter yesterday (the rim was set at 9 feet…hehe). Legs are feeling springy! For those who have been following my journal, you’d know that I’ve been dealing with some, back/hip/psoas muscle pain. Praise God for His healing grace!
These are the three things for which I’m thankful today.
I pray that my journal will inspire you to express thankfulness daily to God.
