Welcome to my daily gratitude journal. Everyday I will share one thing for which I’m thankful in each of the areas of family, work, and well-being.
Every day, every moment, and every experience (even the “bad” ones) present opportunities for thankfulness. But to whom are we to express thankfulness? God, our Heavenly Father, must be the object of our thankfulness. All good things come from Him (Jas 1:17); and He works all things (once again, including the “bad” things) together for the good for those who love Him (Rom 8:28).
Today, I’m thankful to God for…
Family: The family members who are still here. I’m entering a rough part of the year – the holiday season. It’s a season of joy, but it’s also a season when we miss those who have passed away. I still miss my mother and father…and always will…’til we meet again. And this will be our first holiday season without my wife’s paternal grandmother (“Big Mama”). So I’m going to make it a point to appreciate the family and friends who are still here, because life on this fallen earth is brief.
Work: Slow and steady business growth. It’s honestly the only way that I can handle it during this season of life.
Well-being: My prayer life. I need prayer in my life (and you do too!) I couldn’t make it without speaking with God throughout the day and hearing from Him through His Word. I couldn’t make it without Jesus’ keeping and the Holy Spirit’s guidance. With that said, I could definitely pray more, pray more spiritually mature prayers, and pray for others more. Pray for me! I’m praying for you.
These are the three things for which I’m thankful today.
I pray that my journal will inspire you to express thankfulness daily to God.
