Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year this season!
Welcome to my gratitude journal. Today, I will share one thing for which I’m thankful in each of the areas of family, work, and well-being.
Every day, every moment, and every experience (even the “bad” ones) present opportunities for thankfulness. But to whom are we to express thankfulness? God, our Heavenly Father, must be the object of our thankfulness. All good things come from Him (Jas 1:17); and He works all things (once again, including the “bad” things) together for the good for those who love Him (Rom 8:28).
Today, I’m thankful to God for…
Family: The time our family spent together reading Genesis 3 (The Fall) and Luke 2 (The Birth of Jesus Christ). Genesis 3 is a great reminder of why Luke 2 was necessary. Reading both of them really helps you understand WHY we need Jesus as our Lord and Savior. It was joy to see our 5 and 9-year old daughters soak in the knowledge and ask some really good questions. I’m thankful for the grace that allowed me to accurately answer their questions. Praise God!
Work: The work of Jesus Christ during his 33 years on this Earth…and for His work reigning and interceding for us still today! Jesus is the only Way to Heaven.
Well-being: Spiritual well-being in my marriage…in that my wife and I are both saved and safe in Christ. Being justified in the eyes of God is the best gift in the world…everything else is a bonus.
These are the three things for which I’m thankful today.
I pray that my journal will inspire you to express gratitude to God.
