Selling Unwanted Items

The first and easiest way to make money if you are stuck in a rut is to have a major clearout in your home. The best way to do this is to choose a room to start in and slowly work your way around the house from room to room.

You should go through every cupboard and even your wardrobe and find those things that you have held onto over time but don’t actually have a use for it.

This can also include clothes that you have shoved to the back of your wardrobe and never wear, and even household appliances that are getting dusty in a cupboard that you never open.

Anything that you don’t need or that you wouldn’t miss if it were gone can be put to the side and sold. Try to be strict with yourself.

It can be difficult to get rid of items that you have spent your own money on, but if they are not getting any use, or as much as they should, then it is time to say goodbye.

This doesn’t mean that you need to get rid of items that you love and use all the time; it is simply an exercise that involves having a clearout to discover things that you don’t use and love that could be sold.

You might even surprise yourself by finding things that you didn’t even know that you had lying around in your home, and these things can help you to make money in a difficult time.

Once you have a pile, no matter how big or small, of things that you think you can sell, try sorting them out into categories like electrical items and clothing.

Once you have sorted your things into piles, you will need to take pictures of everything.

Finally, all that is left to do is post your items online through a variety of second-hand selling sites like eBay and wait to see if people are interested. Hopefully, you will be able to make a decent amount of money to buy you some time.

You could also choose to have a garage sale for those items that aren’t selling online to try and see if a more local approach will help. You never know what someone might be interested in, so it is worth a try.

Start a Dog Walking Service

One way to try and make yourself some extra cash is to offer your dog walking services to dog owners. So many people have dogs, and not everybody has the time to walk them as much as they need to.

You can advertise this online or through word of mouth, and it could be a great way to make some money while you don’t have anything to occupy your time.

This idea will give you something to do while being able to make money from it at the same time.

Use Your Talents to Your Advantage

Are you really creative and like to get involved in making things? Or do you have a musical talent that could come in handy? Put these skills to the test to try and make some money.

You could offer musical services to local bars, cafes, and restaurants that play live music, or you could break out the crafts and make things to sell online.

Starting up a small side business can be really beneficial, and you never know, it could even turn into a full-time career.

The same can be applied to any skill or talent that you have. Creative writers can write on a freelance basis through online platforms, and do it yourselfers can offer their services to their local area.

There is always a way that you could try to utilize your talents to make money.

Take Part in Online Services

There are a variety of websites online that are designed to help you make money while offering your time and effort.

There are survey websites that allow you to take surveys and be paid for your time, and there are also websites like Fiverr where you can advertise your services for money.

Searching the internet for ways to make money can be more helpful than you might think. However, make sure that you are looking at reputable websites that aren’t scams.

Never give out your secure information to people, as this isn’t likely to be a legit company.

Some of these websites also offer vouchers for your time instead of cash, which could help you out in other areas like grocery shopping or shopping for other essential items.

Couponing

Couponing is a really popular way to save you some money.

While you are not directly making money, you can search for coupons in newspapers, magazines, and even online that can help you save money when you need to spend it on essential items.

You never know what deals you might find, and you might even come across some free items along the way. When you are struggling, coupons can be really helpful.

You should also look for discount codes when shopping from online retailers, which can also help you to save, even if it is only a small amount.

Hopefully, these tips have given you some great ideas for how to make money when unemployed. You may be so successful with one of the ideas that it may turn from a side hustle to a legitimate business!
